National Pumpkin Day is an event dedicated to the world-favourite autumn crop. It bring the numerous health and nutritional benefits of pumpkin into our attention. Their popularity is undeniable, being one of the most iconic symbols of the harvest season and Halloween.

Other than their aesthetic looks, pumpkins are also packed with minerals and vitamins, making them a great ingredient for cooking. They have a high content of vitamin A, potassium and and fiber, as well as antioxidants. And they are not only beneficial for humans, but pets as well – they act as natural supplements for dogs and cats alike.

Those wishing to celebrate Pumpkin Day have a wild range of activities to choose from: visiting a pumpkin patch, craving a Jack-o’-lantern or baking a pumpkin pie, just to list a few. However, we shouldn’t forget the people who bring this delicious crop to our tables – the hard-working community of gardeners.

Gardeners make up a large community in the UK, as it is estimated that there are about 30 million gardeners in the country. Gardening is beneficial for the body and mind, therapeutic gardening often being used to treat various mental or physical conditions. Many charities are focused on providing such opportunities, and Wire Fence aims to support their efforts through this fundraising event.

Wire Fence is dedicated to helping those in need. They decided to support a different organisation each month by organising a fundraising event. You can read more about this charitable initiative here: https://www.wirefence.co.uk/national-pumpkin-day/ .
